State Board of Education President Debe Terhar

Noble Academy welcomed State Board of Education President Debe Terhar to speak with the middle school students about college, as well as to tour Noble and meet other students and staff.

As an elected member of the State Board of Education, Terhar began her term on January 1, 2011, representing the Fourth District, which includes Hamilton and Warren Counties. Her term expires in December of 2014.

According to the Department of Education, Terhar is a former licensed Montessori teacher, and her experience includes working with children with disabilities and diverse
socio-economic backgrounds in both public and private schools. In addition to her role with the Board, she currently serves as a Board Member on the Women of Excellence Council of the President’s Advisory Council of Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio. She is currently President and a Board Member of the Hamilton County Republican Women’s Club.

Terhar is a founding member of the American Spirit Education Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of American heritage. She is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Xavier University.
