The third graders had a great time at Lynd‘s farm this October! The day was a bit rainy, but despite the muddy conditions, the kids had a great time! They took a tractor ride through rows of over 75,000 trees and learned how to grow a pumpkin from first planting the seed all the way through harvest time. And they found out that there isn’t just one kind of pumpkin, but lots of types of pumpkins in the world, used for many different purposes. They even got to pick their own pumpkins, gourds, and Indian corn to take home and share with their families. With all the activities, the students returned to school tired, muddy, hugging bags of Indian corn, pumpkins, and gourds, and couldn’t have been happier.
