“Practice is the best of all instructors.”
Noble Academy’s curriculum is fully aligned to the Ohio Academic Content Standards. We are responsible for preparing our students for the Ohio Achievement Assessments each spring. Additionally, we administer the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) as a diagnostic measure to show our students’ growth over the school year.
We use a carefully selected curriculum to provide our students with the best access to the material for which we are responsible to present over the year. We use Everyday Math from the University of Chicago for mathematics for grades Kindergarten to six. This program provides a strong background and prepares our students to transition into higher level math skills when they are in grade seven.
We use the Houghton-Mifflin reading program, a program that provides a structured, growth-oriented approach to teaching children to read. Additionally, our teachers have access to the Scholastic leveled reading program, Study Island, Accelerated Reader, and a host of other materials that are designed to support and challenge all learners.
We offer the full line of specials, such as physical education, art and music, as well as classes in technology and foreign language to all our students from Kindergarten to Grade 8. We are currently exploring expanding our foreign language curriculum and investigating the option of offering high school credit to our middle school students for the language courses taken at Noble Academy. Our teachers, many of whom hold Master’s degrees, use their own resources and creativity to add to the curriculum by giving students the opportunity to pursue research of in their areas of interest, creating lab experiments, using hands-on learning methods, and a variety of other methodologies that make the curriculum more accessible for our students.
We offer full special education services to students who need them as well as English as a Second Language (ESL) and Reading Intervention services. We offer free after-school tutoring for all student that can be used as a chance for extra help or for extension. At Noble, we feel that every child should be encouraged and challenged to do their very best. We embrace the idea that each child is an individual and that their educational experience should be as unique as they are.
